Now, he is so curious to go out to the backyard daily and feel the temperature. As a mother, I remember seeing from when they were so little how each day starts fresh with a child. Why? • • Well, they don’t carry around the baggage we do. So a sleep - at night or sometimes even a quality nap - magically resets their energy. (Though this idea can apply to us sleep-deprived parents too!) • • One day full of meltdowns can be followed by a day where suddenly your child is doing one new thing without a reminder or any drama. • • Same goes with potty training. It can get really messy. Really overwhelming. If you can reset the energy (don’t worry about the accidents) you can often get over the hump. It’s a shift that feels both as dramatic and seamless as waking up to a new day. • ❄️ This morning we woke up to snow. This weather station by @moon.picnic was a favorite gift under the Christmas tree. My daughter was already writing out weather reports so I was so excited when I spotted it. They had a lot of fun changing out the dials this morning. �� • Every day looks different with parenting. And every day through the eyes of a child is fresh and new. So I’m looking at 2019 not as one year to get a fresh start, but 365 fresh starts through sunny, cloudy, stormy, and snowy days.
